Following a report on the power the next Xbox might wield, more rumors have surfaced. Sources have told Kotaku some particularly interesting bits of info regarding the next-generation Xbox, rumored to be making a debut at E3.
The biggest news coming out of this new information, is the chance that Microsoft may enforce some sort of used game protection on the next Xbox, rendering the machine incapable of playing used games. Regretfully, the source was unable to explain how this will happen, though it's feasible to believe that it would be tied to an XBLA account in some way.
I can feel the angry mob gathering pitchforks and torches as I type this. But it could be a way to get more third-party publishers to create exclusive titles for the platform.
Although far less interesting, these sources also tell Kotaku that the next Xbox will have a Blu-ray drive for games, and could possibly feature an upgraded version of Kinect with an on-board processor.
E3 can't get here soon enough.
