Truth be told, Sony's marketing efforts are some of the worst. Not only does Sony spend very little to promote their games and hardware via advertising, but when it does, it's usually a disaster. SIXAXIS-controlled eggs? Crying babies, anyone?
But with the PlayStation Vita, Sony is preparing its "largest platform launch in terms of marketing investment" ever, said John Koller, Director of Hardware Marketing, SCEA. A full $50 million smackers, to be precise.
The campaign slogan, "Never Stop Playing" will be featured everywhere from TV commercials, to billboards, to social media and everything in-between.
Sony believes the PlayStation Vita's target market is the 20-year old male who plays games up to eight hours a week or more, and will attract this demographic by airing commercials for the Vita during shows like Tosh.0, South Park, and the upcoming 500th episode of The Simpsons.
