E3 Video Games Live Featuring Journey, Skyrim, and Akira Yamaoka

Video Games Live will be arriving once more during the week of E3 at the Nokia Theater on June 6th, and VGL creator Tommy Tallarico has a star-studded lineup of performers and arranged tributes for a favorite video games.

In its eighth year of touring, Video Games Live will be featuring orchestrations of music from Skyrim, Diablo III, World of Warcraft: Mists of Pandaria, Earthworm Jim, and the critically-acclaimed Journey. If that weren't enough, they also have different arrangements to perform music for Donkey Kong Country and Star Fox, as well as special guests from Japan for the 25th Anniversary of Street Fighter. The Guile theme definitely goes with that.

Aerith's Theme from Final Fantasy VII will debut at the concert, in recognition of the track being inducted into the Classic FM Hall of Fame at $16.

But no, they're not done yet. The original composers will become guest conductors for their games: Russell Brower for Warcraft and Diablo III, Austin Wintory for Journey, and a secret conductor for Skyrim. Akira Yamaoka will also be playing his guitar, and fan musician and violinist Lindsey Stirling for Zelda will be performing. Other video game music stars like Martin "The Video Game Pianist" Leung and Viking Jesus will be featured as well.
