Earlier this week, Valve head Gabe Newell expressed his displeasure with Microsoft's upcoming Windows 8 platform, going so far as to say that it's a "catastrophe" for PC gamers. Unfortunately for the Big M, that's only the tip of the iceberg, as Blizzard's executive VP of game design Rob Pardo agreed with Mr. Newell in a recent tweet.
The post reads: “Nice interview with Gabe Newell – ‘I think Windows 8 is a catastrophe for everyone in the PC space’ – not awesome for Blizzard either.” This certainly doesn't bode well for loyal PC gamers, as Valve and Blizzard serve as two of the biggest players in the computer gaming space.
Windows 8 is set to launch on October 26th and seeks to better integrate the Microsoft platform across a host of devices. It will also be interesting to see how this affects the Xbox 360, Windows Phone and Microsoft Surface going forward, as Newell has expressed as strong desire to focus Valve's efforts on Linux support.
