Niantic Shows a Promising Future for Pokemon Go with Rumored Halloween Release of Generation 3

Since its cultural phenomenon inception in the summer of 2016, Pokemon Go’s developer Niantic has kept the mobile “gotta catch ’em all” game going through steady streams of content every so often. Whether it was the implement of generation two Pokemon from the Gold, Silver, and Crystal games or the long-awaited addition of legendary’s, there has been new content to complete for fans of Pokemon Go.

Dataminers have been continuously mining Pokemon Go’s data, leading to the previous reveals of generation two and legendary Pokemon before they were ever officially announced by Niantic. According to Reddit user The Silph Road, they have datamined the game once again to reveal the upcoming Halloween event.

As we are in the spooky Halloween season, it is only fitting that Pokemon Go adds some spooky new monsters to collect. From the mining, it has been revealed that generation three Pokemon will be coming later this month in honor of Halloween.

The dataminers found the generation three badge and new music for the game. Terrifyingly, there was a Lavender Town night theme discovered, the same music falsely rumored to be the cause of numerous Japanese children’s deaths. The hope of generation three Pokemon has fans excited, but it’s worth noting that they will probably not be all added for Halloween.

Most likely, it will only be a select few added as a teaser for later. This is how Niantic did things with generation two, as not even all of those Pokemon have been completely added to the game yet. In fact, the original generation one Pokemon wasn’t complete until Mewtwo’s addition earlier this summer. The Silph Road has previously guessed correctly new content for Pokemon Go, so it is only a matter of time before an official announcement.
