Developers Toadman Interactive and publisher Sold Out hav announced a Closed Alpha test for their upcoming game, Immortal Unchained. It will be running from March 8th to March 12th, 2018.
Immortal Unchained is an action RPG inspired by the popular Dark Souls franchise. However, instead of focusing on melee weapons like swords and spears, this game will focus on brutal shooting and tactical gunplay. Toadman Interactive describes the game as being “the first hardcore shooter for the action-RPG genre.”
Immortal Unchained boasts over 100 guns and unique weapons for players to wield. Players can customize their characters with over six different Disciplines or playstyles to choose from. The story premise is about the player being released from some kind of eternal prison and then embarking on a journey to find out why the nine worlds are ending. The world in Immortal Unchained will combine sci-fi and horror elements.
Toadman Interactive CEO Robin Flodin said that “We’re thrilled to offer PC players the first opportunity to go hands-on with Immortal Unchained next month. We’re taking player feedback incredibly seriously, and we hope that by putting the game into the hands of hardcore action-RPG fans now, we’ll be able to gather feedback that helps us create an even better title in time for launch, and a game that fans of the genre will truly want to play.”
Speaking to PCGamer, Flodin adds that the gameplay will be chaotic and melee weapons will act as a backup. Players will have to plan their attacks because even shooting will drain stamina. Additionally, players can even take off the arm of enemies to disable their weapons.
At the moment, no release date has been announced for Immortal Unchained. It will be released on the PC, PS4, and Xbox One with a release window of late 2018. Players can sign up for the Closed Alpha here and will be contacted via email if they are selected.
