Super Mario Odyssey Speedrun World Record Broken Three Times in Past 10 Days

Super Mario Odyssey has been a game that has attracted many ‘any%’ speedrunners since it’s launch in October last year, but this time the Super Mario Odyssey Speedrun world record has been broken. Three times, in the past ten days and all by the same runner: Canadian YouTube star, NicroVeda. ‘Any%’ is basically a rush to complete the game right at the very end as fast as you possibly can, and NicroVeda has held onto that number 1 slot since March the 6th. To say he is doing well at holding his own is an understatement, particularly considering his newest achievement of breaking the record three times in just under two weeks.

NicroVeda’s American rival, nedeahS, was the first ever player to break the one-hour, four-minute time at Super Mario Odyssey with a time of 1:03:58 on the 2nd of March. It was held for three days, in that time NicroVeda tried his hardest to beat the American’s time but fell short by a single second. A tragic fall on NicroVeda’s part.

Yet on the very same day, nedeahS unleashed a 1:03:47 run. He must have felt that was enough to put his Canadian rival off, but that did not seem the case at all, because only a day later did NicroVeda unbelt a 1:03:33 run. Ever since he has owned the first place as the top Super Mario Odyssey speedrunner.

NeadeahS has tried his best to wrangle his way back, though he has yet to get under 1:03:40. On the 30th of March they got as far as 1:03:41, but that was then followed by a 1:03:28 by NicroVeda the very next day, and then his new record on April 3rd. The dedication shown by both speedrunners is nothing short of amazing, though we wonder if there will be anyone else who may take the crown from both NicroVeda and neadeahS?
