Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker Release Date, More Details

Bandai Namco has announced the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker release date will be August 31 this year for Xbox One, PS4 and PC. They’ve also given us some details about what’ll be included in the ‘Uzumaki Edition‘ of the game. New characters Gaara and Deidara, as well as three different modes, have been shown off in today’s trailer.

Let’s begin with the characters: Gaara will be a defence-type fighter, with a special move called Grand Sand Mausoleum that’ll restrict opponents for a limited time. Deidara is a ranged-type with a special clone-creating ninjitsu, the clones exploding after a period of time. The intent here is to use the clones as deadly time bombs. But what’s important for fans of Naruto is that players will still be able to fully-customise their own characters.

In the trailer, we also see three of the modes that we’ll get to play in Shinobi Striker. There’s ‘The Flag Battle’ which operates much like your standard-fare capture the flag game type but with each flag collected adding to a points score instead of ending the game. There’s ‘The Base Battle,’ wherein you’ll have to maintain control of at least two of three capture points for the longest time like a multi-location king of the hill. And ‘The Combat Battle’ will act as a team deathmatch game type.

Bandai Namco has also revealed what will come with the ‘Uzumaki Edition’ of Shinobi Striker. You’ll get the base game as well as the season pass and a figurine of Naruto and Boruto. The season pass is going to come with nine total DLC packs and the ‘Great Sages of the Mount Myouboku’ accessory, and people who pre-order the game will also get Naruto 7th Hokage costume and a master to train their avatar called Pain.

This press release was a huge info dump, and there’s plenty to look forward to for fans of the Naruto games as well as fighting game fans in general. It’s a few months until the Naruto to Boruto: Shinobi Striker release date, but until then you can pre-order the game for all platforms on Bandai Namco’s website.
