Fallout 76 Story

E3 2018: Fallout 76 Gameplay and Details at Bethesda Conference

Bethesda finally showed us some Fallout 76 gameplay at their E3 2018 conference. The game will be entirely online but, “of course you can play this solo,” according to Todd Howard. It’s going to be a softcore survival game and you’ll share the world with dozens rather than hundreds of other players, and you can join servers with your friends with progression carrying over. All of this will be coming on November 14, 2018.

As many of the rumours had suggested, there’s a heavy focus on building. You can apparently build anywhere by placing down a C.A.M.P device and constructing decorative items and ordinance defences to protect your settlement from creatures, super mutants, and other players. If you want to act diplomatically with those players you can make use of emotes or even take in-game selfies together. You might want to take selfies of yourself too if you pick up the Fallout 76 Power Armour Edition, which comes with a full-scale wearable T-51 power armour helmet.

Throughout West Virginia, you’ll also find a variety of nuclear launch sites. You can go solo or team up with other players to storm these raid-like sites, and select targets to bomb. After dropping the nukes, you can then take advantage of the nuclear fallout to find rare items at the risk of radiation poisoning. Here and throughout the world, you’ll also encounter the various cryptids infamous to West Virginia.

More on Fallout 76 gameplay as well as other details will come soon, so stay tuned.
