Microsoft and the Xbox One have jumped on the World Cup 2018 “it’s coming home” meme, introducing a brand new customer controller in celebration of England’s decent performance during the tournament so far. The custom controller was created using Microsoft’s excellent Xbox Design Labs service, which allows players to create their very own Xbox One controllers.
“It’s coming home” has been a familiar statement throughout England during the World Cup, with the national team’s winning performances against Tunisia and Panama causing some to get ahead of themselves in regards to England’s chances. While England fans have been burned many times before, the two victories have caused some to speculate that England could take it all the way, especially with favorite such as Germany underperforming during the tournament.
The Xbox Design Labs creation plays into this belief, taking the ‘Three Lions’ chorus and slapping it on the bottom of a red and white Xbox One controller. Take a look at the end result below:

The England Xbox One controller is being given away by the official Xbox UK Twitter account, though anyone with World Cup fever can still create it themselves using the Xbox Design Lab. It’ll cost UK Xbox One owners £59.99, so those who haven’t gone all-in on England’s chances during the tournament may want to hold off to see how the national team performs after the group stages.
The England team still have a rocky road ahead if they want to lift the trophy. Along with facing Belgium later today in a tough contest, the likes of Brazil, Portugal, Spain, and Argentina will also be waiting for them in the round of 16. Still, it’s difficult to not get swept up in the festivities, so regardless of how the team performs later today we’re going to go right ahead and say that it’s coming home.
