Black Ops 4 Beta Release Date Revealed, Blackout Beta to Be Separate

Treyarch has announced today that the Black Ops 4 beta release date will be kicking off in August, with a Blackout beta release date coming in September. The multiplayer beta will be coming to PS4 first on August 3, and then to Xbox One and PC the following weekend.

A lot of Call of Duty fans are pretty interested in getting their hands on the multiplayer and Blackout modes to see how they fare. Treyarch announced today that betas for each of them will be coming in the next two months. On August 3 the Black Ops 4 multiplayer beta will come to PS4 at 10 a.m. PT, ending on August 6 at the same time. Then, on August 10, there’ll be a shared PS4 and Xbox One beta from August 10 at 10 a.m. PT to August 13.

On PC, an early access beta will begin at the same time as the joint PS4 and Xbox One beta, at 10 a.m. PT. The PC open beta will start August 11 and end on August 13, again both respectively at 10 a.m. PT. All participants in every beta test will receive a unique, one-of-a-kind calling card to use in-game, and every player that achieves max rank will get a permanent unlock token that they can use on any piece of create-a-class content when the full release of Black Ops 4 comes out.

“This is an exciting opportunity for us at Treyarch,” said co-studio head Dan Bunting in a statement. “Because — not only are we putting more content into players’ hands earlier than ever before — we get to break new ground by hosting two separate beta experiences … we want launch day to be a celebration that players around the world can enjoy together, and we know it won’t stop there — we will always work tirelessly to improve, grow, and evolve the game beyond launch.”

Black Ops 4 beta for the new Blackout battle royale mode will be coming later in September, though a date has yet to be confirmed.
