PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition Console

PS4 Pro 500m Limited Edition Console Pre-Orders Sell Out in US

Sony celebrated a landmark occasion for the PlayStation console recently with the announcement of the PlayStation 4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition console. Sony produced a gorgeous-looking translucent blue PS4 Pro to commemorate selling 500 million consoles since the original PlayStation launched in Japan in December 1994, Limiting the number manufactured to only 50,000 worldwide, Sony ensured that there would be a fierce battle among its fanbase to land one.

That almighty tussle for the limited edition console has already seen units sell out in the US, according to a report from Gamespot. Pre-orders for the console went live on Thursday, August 24 and fans have snapped up every available one quicker than you can snap your fingers. Unsurprisingly, plenty of PlayStation 4 fans have flocked to social media to express their sadness at missing out on buying one. It’s unclear how gamers in other regions have fared, but we imagine they’ll have sold out in places like the UK too.

People who are desperate to secure a piece of video game history can presumably locate one of the 500 million limited edition PS4 Pro consoles on sites like eBay. Be prepared to have to pay extortionate amounts of cash to bag yourself one, however, given how rare these consoles are. If that doesn’t tickle your fancy, you can always pick up a 500m limited edition headset or Dual Shock controller instead.

The headset will set users back around $100, while the gamepad will require you to fork over $65 of your hard earned money. It might not be exactly what you wanted, but at least you’ll have a small piece of hardware steeped in the colors of this limited edition run. The PS4 Pro 500 Million Limited Edition console comes complete with its own dual shock controller, headset and PlayStation camera peripherals. If you were lucky enough to snag a console itself, you won’t have to pay more for the privilege of add-ons.
