FIFA 19 Continental Cup to Be Held at Paris Games Week 2018

Sony Interactive Entertainment and ESL have announced the FIFA 19 Continental Cup. The first official FIFA 19 Championships tournament will be held at the upcoming Paris Games Week 2018, which will take place from October 26 to October 28, 2018. Participating gamers will not only earn the opportunity to win great prizes but also compete to accumulate points for the chance to attend the EA Sports FIFA 19 Global Series Playoffs.

The FIFA 19 Continental Cup will see the top 32 players from different regions around the world competing against each other. However, gamers will have to fight for the right to be part of the final 32 players in the qualifying events taking place from October 6 to October 14, 2018. There will be a total of 13 slots from Europe alone, with the remaining slots hailing from North America, South America, Asia, and Australia/New Zealand.

In order to participate in the FIFA 19 Continental Cup, gamers are required to be a registered player on the ESL Play platform, as well as be at least 16 years of age or older. Gamers who hold multiple citizenships from different countries will have to choose only one country’s qualifiers to join. Last but not least, since the competition will be held in France, all participating players must have valid travel documents allowing them to enter the country.

The Continental Cup will be streamed live on Twitch, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook. More details and information will be revealed as the competition grows closer. Head on over to the official website here to find out how to register for the upcoming qualifiers.

In other related news, FIFA 19 managed to score itself a spot at the top of the UK games charts this week, beating reigning champion Spider-Man PS4. However, physical sales seem to have dwindled, with a 25 percent decrease in sales, which can be attributed to increasing digital sales as well.
