Tomb Raider Multiplayer Modes Revealed, Details Inside

Just last week, it was revealed that Crystal Dynamic's upcoming Tomb Raider reboot will feature multiplayer. Now, we have a few details on exactly what will be offered alongside the main campaign when the game releases this March.

On the official Tomb Raider forums, a number of details from OXM's exclusive feature were posted. As one might expect, there will be a Team Deathmatch option, which pits a group of Lara's pals against a team of vicious natives. Players will alternate sides after each match in a best out of three battle.

Next up is a mode called "Rescue," which tasks a team of "survivors" with picking up and delivering med-packs to various locations around the map. Meanwhile, another team called "scavengers" try to thwart the other team's efforts by taking them out.

And last but not least is a game type called "Cry for Help." Unfortunately, all we know about it right now is that it places a large emphasis on discovering and collecting stuff.

Interestingly enough, it doesn't look like Lara will make an appearance in the multiplayer. There is, however, a large cast of characters to choose from. You'll be able to customize your loadouts and upgrade your character through a leveling system.

The game's multiplayer is being developed by the talented team behind Deus Ex: Human Revolution over at Eidos Montreal, so don't go dismissing it just yet.
