You could say that I'm about to start this rumor. With the attacks on Sony and the PlayStation 3 as widespread and far reaching as they've been, my mind instantly went to Anonymous when I saw this.
Currently, N4G is down. The gaming news aggregator has a pretty massive Sony fan base built into the community. If you've ever visited you'll have noticed the Sony slant everything has. Does that mean that the website could have become a target for Anonymous?
When I say Anonymous, you should know that I don't mean the collective. At this point, we can be sure that whoever claims to be representing the group doesn't have all of its members under control. Really, anyone and everyone is Anonymous and the nature of the group only lends to "broke, blind, bedlam" tactics they've engaged in.
We'll update as soon as we hear more about N4G, Anonymous, and whether or not the aggregator was actually hacked.
[UPDATE]
Game Revolution got ahold of N4G on Twitter and they responded with the above.
[UPDATED AGAIN]
What does it say about Anonymous, this whole PSN debacle, and my fears as a gamer that this is what I jumped to when I saw the website in question go down?
