Rebellion North Is the Latest Studio in the Rebellion Family

Rebellion has announced its latest acquisition, buying up TickTock Games which will now be renamed Rebellion North. Rebellion has said the new studio is already working on a host of new titles that are yet to be announced. Rebellion North is the latest in what’s been an expensive period for Rebellion after opening a new film studio near its Oxfordshire headquarters.

TickTock Games is perhaps best known for being the team behind the remastered version of Rebellion’s Rogue Trooper, though the team has also worked as part of projects for Sony, Nintendo, and Microsoft. Rebellion CEO Jonathan Kingsley said that as the “company continues to grow and it’s of utmost importance we bring in the right people. We’ve worked with the team at TickTock Games for a while now, and we know they’ll continue to prosper as Rebellion North.”

TickTock will now continue to operate under the name Rebellion North, becoming the fourth studio in the Rebellion family alongside Rebellion Liverpool, Rebellion Warwick, and the headquarters in Oxford. And it doesn’t seem that the new kids on the block will have much time to settle down, either, as the Rebellion press release explained that the new studio is already working on a handful of projects while “the company readies itself for another big year, with multiple unannounced titles set to launch in 2019.”

2018 wasn’t exactly a slow year for the British developer and publisher, though. Rebellion not only released the likes of Strange Brigade, which was received to a fairly lukewarm reception, they also splashed out £100 million on a new film studio as the company looks to expand its work on a handful of projects it has on the go. Rebellion announced it’s working on a new series based on Judge Dredd, with Mega-City One currently in the works alongside a Rogue Trooper movie adaptation.
