Devil May Cry 5 Shin Megami Tensei Liberation Dx2 event

Sega and Capcom team up for Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 and Devil May Cry 5 event

Sega and Capcom are teaming up to give players a celebratory crossover event between the upcoming Devil May Cry 5 and the free-to-play mobile title, Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2. The partnership will put characters from the Devil May Cry series in an original story mode for the mobile game, with the crossover event going live on March 14 in Japan.

The collaboration event was announced through social media earlier today with a campaign promising to reward players with more in-game incentives for more engagement with the post. According to the official event site, the story mode will star Dante, V, and Nero in a campaign for Sega’s mobile game, with the story being overseen by Capcom. Little else is known about the mode, though at the time of publishing there are no announced plans to launch the event outside of Japan.

Shin Megami Tensei: Liberation Dx2 is a mobile spin-off from the mainline Shin Megami Tensei series which launched on iOS and Android devices in January 2018. The game allows players to create their own protagonist and engage in demon hunting through an in-universe phone app. The upcoming Devil May Cry 5 promotion isn’t the first time that Sega has teamed up with other developers on the game, as was the case earlier this year when a Bayonetta crossover event was announced.

Fans of both franchises have flocked to the social media announcement posts to express their excitement for the event. Devil May Cry fans specifically may already be ready for more content from the upcoming fifth game as it was recently confirmed that while the game would receive a free update post-launch, there are currently no plans for any DLC or expansions.

Devil May Cry 5 is set to launch in just a few days on March 8 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
