Every year the new FIFA game seems to add in a new league or two, and the high-ups in the English Vanarama National League are hoping that non-league soccer will finally receive the representation they believe it deserves in FIFA 20. What’s more, the Vanarama National League believes that FIFA 20 National League inclusion can become a reality with your support.
Lead by Vanarama (National League sponsors), the National League, several of its clubs, and former FA Chairman David Bernstein, a campaign to get the Vanarama National League into FIFA 20 has been launched today. A quick look on social media will let you know that there have been cries for National League representation in FIFA games for a number of years. Now, you can help make it happen.
Heading over to the official campaign page, you can sign a petition to help EA notice that everyone wants non-league soccer in FIFA 20. In recent years, the National League has become increasingly full of well-known English League clubs such as Hartlepool United, Bristol Rovers, and more. Vanarama has even mocked up a potential National League cover for FIFA 20, starring Sutton United captain Jamie Collins as well as Alfie Rutherford, Havant and Waterlooville’s top goal scorer. The competition and level of quality has improved in recent times, with BT Sport picking up airing rights to the National League for the last few seasons. David Bernstein explains that “this campaign when successful will make a real commercial difference to the financial challenges facing non-league football,” that is, “in addition to putting a smile on the faces of some of the most devoted fans in the world.”
Andy Alderson, CEO and co-founder of Vanarama, adds that the company loves “being involved in non-league football. Its proper football, with proper fans. The Vanarama National League is growing year on year and deserves to be recognized in FIFA 20. EA Sports need to stand up and take note and give the best fans in world football what they want. The addition of the National League would make the FA Cup competition in Career mode more realistic, too. Many giant-killings have taken place over the years including National League teams. Having them included would make sense. Vanarama will take the petition results to EA Sports by the end of the current season.
