Latest Splinter Cell: Blacklist Trailer Chokes Out A Co-Op Mode

The latest trailer for Splinter Cell Blacklist from Ubisoft showcases the title's cooperative play, where one player controls Sam Fisher and the other player controls Isaac Briggs. Both have the full arsenal of Fourth Echelon equipment at their disposal, but the banter must have been picked up in the field.

Synchronized executions and even the final show down with mercenaries make Blacklist's co-op mode a true renaissance for fans of Chaos Theory. Even better is the news that 14 maps and four mission types will all be playable in splitscreen co-op.

There's also a crap load of pre-order bonuses up for grabs, standard issue of course, but I'm convinced that Splinter Cell: Blacklist could be a major sleeper hit this year. Everything I've seen and heard about the game suggests a return to form for the franchise, maintaining the aesthetic appeal of Conviction, but reigniting the fanbase with core gameplay that made the series so popular in the first place.

Not releasing exclusively on Xbox 360 should also aid Blacklist in outselling the last game.
