After a friend’s car was stolen at E3, Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon made a promise on Twitter. Along with a picture of the car, Boon tweeted that he would reveal one of the two Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters if the vehicle was found. This spawned a wide search for the car that ended with the safe recovery of the vehicle. Now, after the good news, all we can do is wait for Boon to make good on his promise.
The tweet calling amateur detectives and passers-by to action went out the evening of June 13. Boon’s friend Shane Satterfield returned to a parking lot to find his black Nissan 370Z missing. Boon did the logical thing in this day and age: ask the internet for help.
About six and a half hours after the original “missing” tweet, Satterfield posted an update that he and his wife had found the car abandoned in a parking garage not far from where it was stolen. The car was unlocked and in neutral with the e-brake off. Satterfield said the car seemed to be in good condition, and his guess as to why it was abandoned was that the perpetrator couldn’t drive a stick shift. According to Satterfield, the only things missing were “an old iPod, sunglasses, and other junk,” but everything else was in its place.
If all of you at e3 help my buddy @Dinfire find his stolen car, I’ll announce one of the final 2 MK11 DLC fighters! 👍🏻😀pic.twitter.com/ZKDhi3nYVF

My wife got off work and we went back downtown to look for my car and we found it! I can’t even put it into words. I got in the car and drove off like I was stealing it. Thanks to EVERYONE who was trying to help. I love you all! pic.twitter.com/YRfufotU8u

What started off as a bad day turned out as well as things could for Satterfield and for Mortal Kombat fans. Satterfield has his Nissan and now fans can wait for Boon to follow through and announce one of the two Mortal Kombat 11 DLC characters we’ve been waiting for. The comment section of the tweet has some fan speculation, with most hoping for The Terminator or Ash from Evil Dead.
Well done Satterfield on the safe return of your vehicle! Now pardon us while we spend the day refreshing Boon’s Twitter account.
