[Update] Worldwide Studios President Shuhei Yoshida has confirmed that yes, all PlayStation 4 titles (aside from camera-centric ones) will feature Remote Play support. He confirmed the news on Twitter, replying to a question on the report's validity, saying, "Yes, it's true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera. It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita."
Thanks, PlayStation LifeStyle
[Original] PlayStation Vita Remote Play was one of the many features Sony touted during the PlayStation 4 reveal, but because this wasn't the first time we were teased with such functionality, many have been skeptical as to whether or not it will ever turn out like the company has promised.
Fortunately there's reason to believe that Remote Play will not only work, but expand across the PlayStation 4's entire library of content, that is, except for games that require the PlayStation Eye. A trusted source has told Digital Foundry that Sony is asking all developers working on PS4 games to include Remote play functionality.
This could be huge for Sony and its struggling handheld if it can be pulled off. Not only that, but it will give Nintendo and the Wii U some serious competition, as the Vita is by and away superior to the Big N's Fisher-Price-esque tablet controller.
Would solid Remote Play support have you on board to shell out the necessary cash for both a PS Vita and PS4? Let us know in the comments below.
