One thing I don't understand is how horror games have become less scary over the years. You'd think improved visuals would make games far more frightening, but it seems the opposite. Nearly every game that has ever scared me out of my chair released well before the age of realistic graphics. Hopefully that'll soon change with the release of Daylight.
Atlus has announced that Daylight is coming to PC and PS4 in early 2014. Given its small studio roots, similar to Amnesia: The Dark Descent, chances are it'll be available at a budget price ($15-$30).
The game is powered by Unreal Engine 4 and uses procedurally generated environments to maintain an unpredictable and frightening atmosphere. Not only that, but it gives you a reason to go back and play through the second time since your second experience will be different than the first.
