Ratchet & Clank Writer Parting Ways With Insomniac

T.J. Fixman, the writer responsible for bringing life and personality to Sony's Ratchet & Clank series, is saying goodbye to developer Insomniac Games.

In a blog post, Fixman explained why he has decided to move on, saying that he's now interested in working in mediums other than gaming. Fortunately, he will still be working with Insomniac in some capacity, as the upcoming Ratchet & Clank feature film won't be launching until 2015.

I can look at my time at Insomniac and feel like I've done what I set out to do there. As for other mediums, I feel like I'm just getting started. I'm excited by movies and television. I want to get back into graphic novel writing. I want to develop different projects with new characters and stories and worlds I can explore. Right now I have the opportunity to try all of it, and when you're handed a gift like that, you have to grab onto it with both hands.

Do you think the Ratchet & Clank series will still have a future with Fixman gone? What do you think is in store for Insomniac Games in the coming years? Let us know in the comments below.
