Ubisoft Unveils Final Fantasy-Inspired Title Child of Light

Ubisoft Montreal just announced at GDC Europe that a brand-new title that is being headed up by Far Cry 3 creative director Patrick Plourde. The game is called Child of Light and it takes inspiration from Square JRPG classics like Final Fantasy VI.

According Plourde, Child of Light is a side-scrolling "fairytale game" with art and music inspired by Studio Ghibli's Hayao Miyazaki and famed Japanese artist Yoshitaka Amano. Interestingly enough, the game's visuals are powered by the same engine that runs Rayman Legends—so yeah, it'll be pretty. For a tiny glimpse, check out the following Vine clip, courtesy of IGN.

The game is set to launch sometime this winter.

Be sure to stay tuned to GameRevolution in the coming weeks, as there's a very good chance we'll find out more about Child of Light very soon. In the meantime, let us know what you think about this incredibly interesting concept in the comments below.
