Nintendo On Wii U: Lack Of Software The Issue, Not The Name

Reggie Fils-Aime, the head of Nintendo of America, recently spoke to the undeniable sales woes the Wii U is currently facing. According to the Big N boss, it has nothing to do with the console's name, but rather the current lack of software.

Speaking to KotakuFils-Aime explained:

The challenges we're facing with Wii U are not issues of the name. The issue is the lack of a steady rate of software launches to motivate the consumer to drive buzz and engagement and to highlight the wide variety of uses of the GamePad. That's the issue.

While I'm sure no one would argue against the fact that the lack of compelling games is a major reason the Wii U has not yet been a success, do you think the name may also be a contributing factor? It's certainly not be the root of the problem, but something tells me the "Wii U" branding isn't helping either. Let us know what you think in the comments below.
