Sony expects to make quite a splash in the gaming world with the release of the PlayStation 4. In fact, SCE president Andrew House shared that the company expects to sell a whopping 5 million consoles by the end of the 2013 fiscal year.
During Sony's TGS keynote, House shared the ambitious goal, saying that the Sony plans to achieve this massive number in 2013. This naturally caused a bit of confusion, as many assumed he was referring to the calendar year rather than fiscal 2013.
Sony Worldwide Studios' Shuhei Yoshida came to the rescue on Twitter to clear up the discrepancy, saying that House was referring to the fiscal year, which ends March 2014. Seeing as how the console will have (finally) launched in Japan by that time, the 5 million figure makes a whole lot more sense.
