A Fortnite Wolverine bug has soured players on the launch of a new character by deleting items and abilities during a match. Using the “Snikt!” emote will cause the currently-equipped item to simply disappear, potentially crippling a player’s chances at winning a Battle Royale game.
Fortnite players have recently been enjoying the wave of new Marvel heroes added to the game along with new emotes added in the BTS K-pop event. However, one of the new emotes launched with the debut of Wolverine is causing serious problems.
How the Fortnite Wolverine bug works and how to avoid it
The Fortnite Wolverine bug is related to his “Snikt!” emote, referring to the sound that is made when he activates his claws. Using this new emote will delete whatever is equipped on your hotbar at the time, even if it is a character ability. This means that the player could potentially delete an important weapon in a Battle Royale game or a carefully-crafted item in Save the World.
Epic Games is aware of the bug and is working on a fix, so the bug shouldn’t be around for too long. However, this isn’t the first time a Marvel character had a game-breaking bug — the Hulk Smashers pickaxe was completely unobtainable for a time.
The bug causing Wolverines Shink! Emote to delete Save The World Items also appears to delete Battle Royale items as well, as seen in this clip VIA @JxyCat https://t.co/4MwDkw8qTC

How do you avoid the Fortnite Wolverine bug? Unfortunately, Epic Games’ advice is to simply avoid using the emote at all. The developer is aware that some players may be upset about lost items, though, and it says that it will “provide more information” for replacing players’ lost items at some point in the near future. For now, you can still safely use Wolverine if you managed to grab the newest Battle Pass — just make sure not to use the Snikt! emote in any game mode.
