Call of Duty: Ghosts is nearly here which means Activision's hopeful national holiday known as "Call of Duty Time" gets rung in by the game's launch trailer.
It looks like we might get to play sequences of Ghosts' campaign where our first-person soldier pilots a tank or other heavy machinery. Obviously that's been done in past campaigns but making it bigger and better and louder and more explode-y is always worth the time it takes to complete a Call of Duty campaign. Of course, multiplayer is always the focus and we got a deep look at the competitive modes earlier this year.
In addition to old classics and new twists on those in multiplayer, Ghosts is also trying a new Squads mode that takes your class loadouts and pits them against other players. I'm perhaps most interested in seeing how this plays out when you try a team of snipers and quick-footed SMG-toting assault soldiers, or if the all-machine-gunners-brigade approach is effective. Call of Duty also revealed support for female soldiers in multiplayer, as well as next-gen improvements made accross the board thanks to engine enhancements. You can read our full hands-on multiplayer preview is here.
We'll have a lot more on Call of Duty: Ghosts through launch but you should note that even if you're a diehard CoD fan planning on getting the next-gen versions, Activision is offering an upgrade plan that carries over all stats and so on. They've got more details here.
Call of Duty: Ghosts is out on both Xbox consoles this fall, both PlayStation consoles this fall, Wii U, and PC. While next-gen versions will launch side-by-side with next-gen consoles at later dates, Call of Duty: Ghosts launches November 5th.
