PS5 pre-orders made with the U.K. retailer GAME face unexpected delays, with the company emailing customers to inform them of a potential delay in their stock.
An email has been sent to GAME customers informing them that PS5 pre-orders may be delayed, and that correct tracking information for the console may not be provided to them until Friday — a day after the console’s November 19 launch.
PS5 delays may affect some customers, says GAME
The email from GAME reads:
“Due to the volume of PlayStation 5’s in the UK market and the size of the product, the launch has led to UK wide delivery challenges for all Retailers and Couriers. Our aim has always been to ensure that as many orders arrive on time for release day as possible therefore, we have had to secure multiple couriers to help try to achieve this.”
GAME has noted that as a result, console delays could occur with certain customers.
GAME has encouraged those who have placed PS5 orders with the retailer to check their email inbox and spam folders for delivery updates, and has noted that they will receive tracking information later today. Additionally, the retailer has added that each console has been “packed and ready to be delivered,” though consoles set to be delivered may experience a delay.
It is unclear how long these PS5 deliveries will be delayed, with tracking information yet to be sent out. Hopefully, GAME will provide the necessary information to PS5 customers sooner rather than later, and the deliveries won’t be made too long after launch.
The PS5 has had a successful launch, selling out across the globe with stock shortages inevitably causing headaches for those looking to order the console. With the console yet to release in the U.K., hopefully this latest news from GAME won’t be reflective of wider launch problems for the console in the region.
