A lot of gamers were disappointed to learn that Crytek's upcoming Xbox One exclusive Ryse: Son of Rome will run at a native resolution of 900p rather than the expected 1080p.
Eurogamer recently spoke to Crytek design director P J Esteves on that very matter. Esteves responded to the outlet's inquiries by explaining that there is so much more to a game's visuals than resolution, as art design is a huge part of the puzzle as well.
I guarantee you, if you take a high-end PC running a game and you look at the graphics comparison between that and Ryse, you're going to go, wow, they both look really good! It's about the art. It's a lot less to do with the actual specs and more to do with what you do with those specs.
Do you agree with Esteves' statement? Are people blowing the whole resolution "issue" out of proportion? Be sure to sound off with your thoughts in the comments below.
