Microsoft Talks Quantum Break And Sunset Overdrive, Teases VGX Announcements

As we near the release of Xbox One, excitement for Microsoft's next-gen console is reaching an all-time high. Company exec Phil Spencer spoke to Polygon about what the future holds for Xbox One, touching on Remedy's Quantum Break, Insomniac's Sunset Overdrive, and super mysterious title coming from Black Tusk Studios.

"We've got a lot of news," Spencer teased. "Frankly, we've got enough news that our E3 would be a little overloaded if we kept everything for that. We're being real thoughtful about the news that people want to hear and also the right time to announce games so that we're not too early."

Speaking specifically to Quantum Break, he went on to add, "Maybe VGX would be a good place for that. It may be before the end of the year when we talk more about what the story and the gameplay is…. We have a pretty good piece that I'm trying to coerce people into putting out before the end of the year."

As far as Black Tusk Studios' project is concerned, it sounds like we'll be waiting a little while before we hear more. "We really just wanted to announce [at E3] that the studio was up and running and they were doing something."

Fortunately, it sounds like Insomniac is making great strides in the development of Sunset Overdrive. "We're playing a full section of the game and feeling really good about the open world gameplay that they've put together," Spencer shared.
