Shuhei Yoshida Says To Not Count Out The Wii U Yet

Shuhei Yoshida, president of Sony Worldwide Studios, said on a talk show that no one should give up on the Wii U yet. He emphasized that a slow launch doesn't exactly mean that the Wii U won't succeed (and I'm sure he's speaking from experience of the PlayStation 3's slow start).

"The latest Mario game is really good, too. I think the Wii U is just getting started," Yoshida said. He also admitted he owns not one, but two, Wii U consoles.

"People can get together and enjoy [the Wii U]; it's got plenty of wonderful games," he added. "Nintendo helps raise and teaches the fun of games to people just starting out. I think that's a very important thing in this industry."

Yesterday's Nintendo Direct presentation sparked some more interest in what Nintendo is cooking with their announcments for Chibi-Robo Photo Finder, Yoshi's New Island, Hyrule Warriors, and NES Remix. Nintendo seems to have a lot up its sleeves for 2014, and it's very possible it will pan out well for the company.
