SimCity Now Features Mod Support, Offline Mode Coming Soon

The folks over at Maxis have announced that SimCity now supports mods and that the long awaited offline mode will be coming soon.

The news of mod support was first outed on the game's official website, which also outlines a number of restrictions that are tied to this newly added feature. As one might expect, "mods must not jeopardize the integrity of the gameplay or harm the experience of others," and "mods that affect the simulation for multiplayer games and multiplayer features, such as leaderboards or trading with other players, are not allowed."

In addition, it doesn't look like you'll be able to profit off your mods, as Electronic Arts wants to keep all mods completely free of charge. For the full rundown on all of the restrictions, head over to the announcement page here.

As far as offline support is concerned, general manager Patrick Buechner shared the following:
