Xbox Europe Exec Departs Microsoft

Chris Lewis, Xbox vice president of EMEA (Europe, the Middle East, and Africa), has announced that he's parting ways with Microsoft to pursue personal business endeavors.

Lewis joined Microsoft back in 1989, and has played a major role is leading the Xbox business in Europe. "He has been a distinguished leader for our Xbox team in Europe – overseeing the launch of the original Xbox, Xbox 360, Kinect and most recently Xbox One, and growing the business significantly across the region," Xbox Chief Marketing and Strategy Officer Yusuf Mehdi said.

"Following that success, Chris has now chosen to retire from Microsoft and focus on his other business and personal interests. We wish Chris nothing but the best, and we thank him for everything he’s contributed to Xbox and Microsoft as a whole over the past 25 years."

This is no doubt a major loss for the company and Xbox fans alike. Here's to hoping Microsoft can find a suitable replacement.
