Bayonetta 2 is headed exclusively to Nintendo Wii U from the publisher behind Mario and Platinum Games, the team behind Vanquish, Anarchy Reigns, Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, and more high-impact action games.
Bayonetta 2 looks no different with huge combat set pieces, tons of destruction, and a uniquely feminine star. I'm sorry, but I'm really digging the mom hair-cut Bayonetta is sporting in her new sequel.
The trailer explains that Bayonetta is looking for the entrance to Inferno, or Hell, following the first game when the clash between the Umbra Witches and Lumen Sages came to a head. Bayonetta's quadruple pistols get a big entrance in the trailer above, in addition to the extended cast and some new characters we've never met before.
Some of the shots in this trailer keep the bosses shaded by rubble and outlandish destruction, but the enemy designs seem just as inventive as ever. Bayonetta 2 is one of the few reasons core gamers have had to rally behind Wii U, but the game's release can't come soon enough.
Watch the full trailer for a look at some kind of ultra-Bayonetta-butterfly transformation and more. We hope to get our hands-on Bayonetta 2 again soon, but until then don't forget to read our hands-on E3 preview from Blake Peterson.
