Grand Theft Auto V Producer Buys a Church

Leslie Benzies, president of Rockstar North, lead developer on games like last Fall's Grand Theft Auto V and other entries in the massive open-world franchise that made Rockstar a household name, now owns a church.

The Edinburgh News reports the story and calls Benzies the Godfather of Gaming and with over £500,000 spent on the city's St. Stephen's Church, it sounds like an appropriate title. Edinburgh News writes:

Philip Johnston said Mr Benzies had lived in Stockbridge for more than a decade and recognised the building's "importance to the community."

The deal would preserve St Stephen's "for years to come" and "ensure the long-term viability of the property as a community centre that benefits all".

The church now has the backing of a charitable trust and will totally not be used for gruesome interrogation sequences that only pretend to be interactive so you'll feel like crap when it's over. Well, only so long as they don't have Sunday school for kids attending Rockstar church.
