PlayStation 4 System Update Adds Share Play, Youtube, More

Gamescom 2014 continues with announcements from major publishers in the games industry and Sony has revealed that the PlayStation 4 hardware will soon upgrade to version 2.00 to open up a variety of new features for users.

PlayStation 4 consoles will now enable players connected online to set up a "virtual couch" via the Share Play functionality which "will create an online co-op experience by allowing you to invite a friend to join your game—even when they don't own a copy of it."

This featured was touted near the PlayStation 4's release and gamers will soon share games with friends online just as they would if they were taking a copy of the software to a friend's house with a spare controller in tow.

Share Play also allows users to virtually pass the controller to a friend online for help. This adds to the Youtube sharing functionality by increasing the level of online connectivity every PS4 user has at their thumbs, but do you take advantage of all of these features now? Will you use Share Play to enjoy a single-player game with a friend online?
