Retro Redux: 10 Games To Introduce To Your Parents

I love my parents. I do, really. But neither of them are particularly savvy gamers, no matter what I might have tried to suggest to them over the years. Often enough it’s ended up with them figuring out what to buy me for birthdays and holidays, but like a lot of players, I want to share the love with them.

They’ve tried to play with me, and I’ve picked some pretty easy games in the past to get them started, but as much as I’d love to tell them about the greatness that is Disgaea or Persona, they’ve never been much interested.

So, instead of a 12-year-old kid with an SNES and searching for somebody to help me take on Shredder in TMNT IV: Turtles in Time, I’m a 30-year-old “adult” with some experience—and more persuasive capabilities—to try to get a controller into their hands.

And this brought about this list. Ten games I think parents (or even grandparents) could probably get playing with minimal help, and that they’ll actually enjoy. We’re not talking Super Meat Boy here, but let’s see what I can come up with.

What do you think of this list? What games do you think you could get the adult-y non-players playing, or if they already play, what do they play? Let us know in comments!
