The world's greatest comic convention is almost here. Host from July 9th through the 12th at the San Diego Convention Center, it will not only serve as a playground for those who enjoy comics, but gamers as well.
In past years video games have been a major element of San Diego Comic-Con, and the same can be said of this year's show. There are already several confirmed games, as well as a few that are rumored to be coming for the fun. In the gallery below we will go over the 10 games that you should keep an eye out on whether you'll be at the show or watching streams and news from home.
Top 10 Games to Look Out For at San Diego Comic-Con 2015
Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 (Activision)
Activision has confirmed that Call of Duty: Black Ops 3 will unveil its brand new version of the fan-favorite Zombies co-operative multiplayer mode at the show. This will occur during a panel on Thursday at 1:00PM where director Jason Blundell will be present to talk about the new mode. They will likely also discuss gameplay mechanics, weapons, and equipment.
Gears of War: Ultimate Edition (Microsoft)
On Thursday at 4:15PM the team leaders behind Gears of War: Ultimate Edition will talk at a panel, specifically focusing on what they have done to make this a much better looking version of the game. With a release date less than two months away, this will likely be the last time that the game is talked about at a show before release. There might be some talk about Gears of War 4, too.
Mass Effect: Andromeda (EA)
BioWare is confirmed to be attending the show. Last year they brought Mass Effect: Andromeda with them when it was very early in development. Now that it's been unveiled at a larger capacity, San Diego Comic-Con 2015 is a great time to discuss the philosophy behind the game's design.
Rare Replay (Microsoft)
2015 is the 30th anniversary of one of the most prolific game studios in history: Rare Ltd. They will be in attendance for a panel at 10:30AM on Thursday, and are likely to bring their Summer hit Rare Replay which will include 30 of their best games for $30.
Rise of the Tomb Raider (Microsoft)
Cosplayers have been invited en masse by Microsoft for a flash mob at the show. It will be part of a large promotional event, which is sure to have some new information and gameplay to share for the game.
Street Fighter V (Capcom)
San Diego Comic-Con is an event perfect for a game like Street Fighter V. On Thursday at 11:45AM Yoshinori Ono and others will talk about the upcoming fighting game, the Capcom Pro Tour, and share what it's doing differently than past games.
SWTOR: Knights of the Fallen Empire
BioWare will be at the show, and this year a new Star Wars film will be debuted. It's a no brainer that SWTOR's upcoming expansion, Knights of the Fallen Empire, will be at the show. Given that only press were able to see it at E3, this will be a big opportunity for BioWare to showcase why this is a package to look forward to.
Transformers: Devastation (Platinum Games)
It was announced at E3 that a new Transformers game is being made by the one and only Platinum Games. They will be at the event with a panel on Thursday at 11:00AM where they talk about what the game is all about.
Overwatch (Blizzard)
Blizzard is confirmed to be going to the show. They say that they will be talking about their late 2015/early 2016 line-up. Blizzard tends to only announce new games at its own convention, called BlizzCon, so it's likely that his means that StarCraft 2: Legacy of the Void and Overwatch will be given the most attention.
Just Cause 3 (Square Enix)
Square Enix has shared with me that they will be bringing three games to the show, one of which is Just Cause 3. This was one of the most popular games at E3 2015, and Square Enix might end up showing all-new gameplay.
