Guide: The Most Recommended Loadout For Titanfall 2 Multiplayer

Remedy has done a great job of balancing the weapons and abilities in Titanfall 2, making selection of an optimal loadout no easy task. This has ensured that there is a great sense of variety between player abilities and weapons in multiplayer.

That said, there are a few choices that can give you an edge. In this guide we will go over which options will benefit you most depending on if you're a newbie or a veteran.

Tactical Ability

Tactical Abilities not only change how your character appears, but provide a regularly usable skill that you can employ into your arsenal. This choice is equally as important as which Primary Weapon you choose, so choose wisely.

For Newbies: Cloak

We recommend Cloak for beginners because it is effective just about every time you use it. This tactical ability will make you invisible to minions, and very difficult to see for other players. You can use it to get to your destination without having to worry too much about campers, one of the things that new players who don't have good movement skills struggle against the most. This will also allow you to sneak up on other players and secure kills provided you're patient.

For Veterans: Grapple

Grapple is incredibly powerful, providing a huge boost to your mobility. It can be used offensively to clear long distances when chasing a target, or defensively when you need to get out of harms way. Throwing the grapple under pressure isn't easy and requires a lot of practice, but is worth the time investment.

Primary Weapon

When it comes to a Primary Weapon, the best advice we can give you is to pick something and stick to it. Having familiarity with bullet timings and recoil patterns is a huge part of getting a good KDR. Sticking to one weapon will also allow you to unlock its mods and skins quicker.

For Newbies: CAR

The CAR is a well-rounded weapon that is easy to control and does incredible damage from close to medium range. It can be hip fired accurately, making it a good weapon for newbies during pressure situations. It struggles at long range, so it is recommended that you use your mobility to move around the map and get into the face of enemies to avoid any long-range confrontations.

For Veterans: G2

The G2 is a semi-automatic assault rifle that does far more damage than the CAR and many other weapons. It is also deadly accurate provided you have a solid trigger finger. What holds it back for newbies is that it requires unlock points and has a ton of recoil. In close up situations you will need incredible discipline and accuracy to make this weapon work. At medium to long range you can win every battle provided you're fast and on-point.

Secondary Weapon

It is incredibly important that you possess some form of capability for dealing with Titans. Because of this, both recommended secondary weapons are Anti-Titan. This will offer you less sustainability than a Pistol, but you can make up for that with magazine extension upgrades and good accuracy.

For Newbies: MGL Mag Launcher

Although the Charge Rifle is much more popular and has better range, the MGL Mag Launcher is able to dish damage to a Titan much faster, in addition to providing mobility.

For Veterans: Archer

The Archer takes a while to unlock. It is also difficult to fire off without being taken out. Those with great map awareness and timing can use it to lay damage into a Titan at an unrivaled rate. Titans will fear you, and your score will soar.

Ornance

Many of the Ordnance options aren't easy to employ in most games and instead become an afterthought. Because of this, the two choices we recommend are more related to utility rather than damage.

For Newbies: Arc Grenade

It is very difficult to land grenades in this game since Pilots move so quickly. We recommend the Arc Grenade, as it can be used to stun both minions and Titans. This will open them up to damage without leaving you vulnerable.

For Veterans: Electric Smoke Grenade

The Electric Smoke Grenade requires great accuracy and an understanding of where chokepoints are. When properly used, it is fantastic for guarding friendly Titans and disrupting the flow of enemy movement.

Kits

There isn't much competition in this section. So, we're going to list Kit 1 and Kit 2 as general recommendations rather than specifying if they are for newbies or veterans.

Kit 1: Fast Regen

Sustainability is a huge element of the game given the low health pools of players. The Fast Regen kit will allow you to quickly transition between combat with other players without having to worry about being at a health disadvantage. The other kit options aren't particularly useful, making this the premier option.

Kit 2: Hover

Hover is incredibly powerful, allowing you to obtain dangerous angles when hovering over opponents. It requires some dexterity to utilize properly, but if nothing else will improve your mobility by allowing you to glide across the map.

Titan

There are six Titan options, and the only one we genuinely recommend avoiding is Ronin.

Tone

Tone is equipped with a Semi-auto Cannon, Tracking Rockets, Particle Wall, Sonar Lock, and Salvo Core. With medium armor, he has greatly agility as well as solid passive mitigation.

The greatest thing about Tone is that he isn't situational like a few of the other Titans are. He is great from short to medium range, capable of dishing out remarkable damage while having the option to pop Particle Wall when under attack.

With Tone it is easy to dish out heavy damage to both Titans and Pilots due to the low downtime between shots and reloads. The Salvo Core ability is also one of the best Titan ultimates as it can be quickly woven into an offensive rotation to provide burst potential.
