This week will see the official release of Star Wars Battlefront 2, which has swiftly become the most controversial game of the entire year despite not having launched yet. We weren’t impressed by the game (or specifically its predatory microtransactions) in our review, which you can check out here. Aside from that, the Switch has three big ports in the form of LA Noire, Skyrim and Rocket League, while Pokemon Ultra Sun and Ultra Moon is also set to give 3DS owners something to play.
Personally, I’m squeezing enjoyment out of Battlefront 2 while trying my best to avoid its microtransactions. The most disappointing aspect of the game is that it’s actually a very entertaining multiplayer shooter outside of its pernicious loot boxes, and while they smother more-or-less every mode, it’s still great fun to hop around a map as Yoda and shove your green lightsaber in Kylo Ren’s eye.
