Video games are for everyone and the industry should continue to make strong strides towards accessibility, though you have to admit that being objectively “good” at a game is a nice feeling. Sure, just taking part in a shooter or fighting game can be a lot of fun, but wiping the floor with your opponents is a beautiful thing for those with a competitive spirit. However, most of us only have a few games that we confidently feel we excel at playing.
There are plenty of online multiplayer games available to play these days, so plenty of avenues to whup ass. Some favor first-person shooters such as Call of Duty or Counter-Strike: Global Offensive, while others are into their League of Legends or Street Fighter 5. Even imbalanced games such as Fortnite and PUBG have garnered huge audiences for their competitive offerings, with PvP in video games having never been a stronger market.
Though I’m by no means the “best,” I’m a pretty sturdy Moira in Overwatch. After maining Lucio for much of my playtime, I recently switched to the orb-dealing hero and have been a decent addition to my team ever since. Need someone to fly in with some piss-colored healing liquid and patch up your wounds? I’m your guy. Are a herd of enemies pushing forward and you need some crowd control? Lemme throw a little purple ball of damage into the mix and give them a headache. I’m not going to be competing in the Overwatch League any time soon, though I can definitely push a team to victory in competitive.
So with so many games to choose from, which do you think you’re the best at playing? Which game have you played during your lifetime in which no one could ever seem to one-up you? As always, let us know in the comments below!
