February has some huge game releases in store. Typically a quiet month, February 2019 has defied expectations by way of containing multiple blockbuster video games, with everything from Far Cry New Dawn through to Anthem dropping this month.
But which games are the GameRevolution editorial team most looking forward to? We discussed the hottest games on our radar below. As always, leave your own responses in the comments section, and we’ll feature our favorite in tomorrow’s Tell GR!
Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “Anthem. Even when I’m not that into loot-based co-op shooters, I can still wind up plugging hours into them regardless. While I’m not overwhelmingly confident that Anthem will be anything spectacular, I’m still looking forward to exploring its world with a few friends. That is, if we can actually pull ourselves away from Apex Legends long enough to do so.”
Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I’m looking forward to Metro Exodus most. Since Bethesda crapped the bed with Fallout 76 I’m looking elsewhere to sate my post-apocalyptic exploration craving. I like that it’s a bit more grounded in reality than Fallout and I think getting to explore the surface in-depth and see the Metro world open up is going to be awesome.”
Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “Far Cry New Dawn gets my vote, but mostly for the co-op aspect. These games have perfected the cooperative gameplay, with the entire adventure being playable with a friend. Sure, I imagine there’s some repetition to be experienced, but fun with a friend will no doubt make things less tedious.”
Bradley Russell, news editor: “I can’t get enough of all things Trials so I have Trials Rising firmly in my sights. It feels like the last Trials game went a bit too OTT so I’m looking forward to a slightly more restrained experience and, for the love of god, make the squirrels easier to find this time. There’s a bit of something for everyone this month, though!”
Michael Leri, features editor: “I’m looking forward to Anthem but not in a traditional sense. While it’s not my type of game, it just seems like it could be a disaster and possibly a landmark moment for BioWare. This could be a new path for the team or yet another strike against them. It’ll be interesting either way.”

Question: What’s the best video game movie?
Voiceless Bard: “Mortal Kombat I guess. It’s a bad movie but I still enjoy it sort of. I know I have seen the Silent Hill movie but I don’t really remember it. I would love to see a new Mortal Kombat movie though, if it’s done well. Also, I absolutely hate all the Resident Evil movies.”
