Tell GR | What is the most evil thing you’ve ever done in a game?

Video games allow us to do things that we simply wouldn’t do in real life. Whether that be hit green dinosaurs with blue shells while driving go-karts, rescuing princesses from giant pig-men, or running a criminal empire, we can live an alternate life in these worlds that wouldn’t be sustainable or moral in reality. With that being said, many of us have done some pretty evil things in these games that would incite more than a raised eyebrow if we were to do them in everyday society.

We’ve shared the most evil things we’ve ever done in a video game below, and now we want to hear your responses. Leave them in the comments section below, and we’ll feature our favorite reply in tomorrow’s Tell GR!

Paul Tamburro, executive editor: “Before Minecraft got a creative mode on consoles, I spent an inordinate amount of time meticulously crafting elaborate buildings piece-by-piece. During one particularly lazy week, I created a sprawling Battle Royale-esque arena set inside a towering dome. A friend in the same world created a football pitch next to it, and we invited other friends along to play with us for the night. The specifics here are hazy because I was mostly operating in a state of blind rage, but by the end of this evening, I had burnt down his football pitch and he had done the same to my dome. It was literal days of work, reduced to smoldering embers. I didn’t return to Minecraft after that.”

Jason Faulkner, senior editor: “I tend to play the good guy in games, so unless I’m forced into some heinous act, I try to be pretty chivalrous. I have hog-tied a person or two in RDR2 and thrown them off cliffs or onto railroad tracks. They’re typically people who tried to kill me though, so it’s just karma in my opinion.”

Mack Ashworth, lead editor: “In a battle royale title called SOS (which has shut down), you were encouraged to keep your microphone on and work together as a team. You had to build trust with one another in order to succeed. In one match, as my two “friends” were about to escape with their shares of the loot, I shot them both from behind and took it all for myself. I could hear their reactions and it was brilliant.”

Michael Leri, features editor: “Playing like a mustache-twirling asshole hardly attracts me in games so “evil” acts tend to just be fitting a predetermined style rather than picking something truly heinous. However, while I did tie up a person and set them on railroad tracks in Red Dead Redemption for the trophy, tying up the last Sasquatch was probably the most messed up thing I did in that game. I tethered him to my horse and dragged him across the ground, smacking said beast into every tree and rock along the way. The ragdoll effects were hilarious and were one of the few times where I felt truly evil.”

Question: What’s the scariest game you’ve ever played?

“Resident Evil 3: Nemesis gave me the shits. It could’ve been due to my age. Would love to revisit it”
