Stardew Valley Creator: There Are “Weird and Obscure” Secrets That Haven’t Been Discovered

Stardew Valley has quickly become one of the greatest success stories of 2016. Having already sold over 425,000 units, it sits as one of the best-selling indie titles in history despite being designed and developed by a single person.

Much of Stardew Valley's success is derived from strong word of mouth. The game has a very positive reputation among gamers for being charming, varied in gameplay, and pleasant to play. It's also earned a reputation for being mysterious, with a long list of interesting secrets hidden within. But not all of them have been discovered.

While speaking to PCGamer, Stardew Valley creator Eric Barone was asked if there are any secrets that the community hasn't discovered. "Yes", he said, but he hasn't share with anyone else how to find them.

Whatever they are, they won't be easy to locate, as Eric shared that they're "so weird and obscure that I don't know if anyone will ever [find them]". Given Stardew Valley's large map size and wide range of gameplay elements, triggering the secrets will require some luck and patience.

Stardew Valley already has a ton of secrets, ranging from a dwarf that can only be spoken to by collecting four hidden scrolls, to legendary fish, a secret forest, and a meteor strike. It's made the game much more compelling for those who have invested a lot of time in the adventure, and now that we know that there is more to be found, let the investigation begin.
