Dark Souls 3: Ashes of Ariandel Has Mistakenly Been Released On Xbox One 5 Days Early

Xbox One gamers are reporting that Dark Souls 3's upcoming DLC Ashes of Ariandel is currently available. The package wasn't supposed to go live until October 25th, but has been pushed to the Microsoft Store ahead of launch and made available for play.

This issue appears to only be affecting the Xbox One version of the game, leading to frustration among PC and PS4 gamers who aren't able to similarly play the game early.

A very similar issue occurred with the original Dark Souls 3 release, as well as with Dark Souls 2: Crown of the Ivory King. There is likely an issue stemming from how Microsoft handles its digital releases and Offline Mode.

If you would like to take advantage of this opportunity and have an Xbox One, purchase the game on the store and simply turn Offline Mode on. The DLC should download and install before allowing you to head into the game. Be sure to check out our full guide and walkthrough for Ashes of Ariandel here.
