Ubisoft, Sony and the Assassin's Creed brand seem to be getting along quite nicely of late. Both Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood and Assassin's Creed: Revelations have been given public multiplayer betas exclusively on Sony's PlayStation 3. Ubisoft's generation-hopping science fiction saga typically gets exclusive pieces of content on the PS3 as well.
Now it appears that Sony Pictures studios will be signing a deal with Ubisoft to develop an Assassin's Creed movie. The report comes from trade magazine Variety that a bidding war sprung out last year between Sony and Universal. Ubisoft created Ubisoft Motion Pictures to make the transition from games to film a smoother process.
This means that the core talent would keep a very close eye on the movies development, hopefully keeping it faithful to the brand. If I were Ubisoft, I'd be putting more effort and money into this endeavor…. The world could do without that Rabbids TV show though.
