Activision Blacklists GameBlog For Black Ops 2 Amazon Leak?

According to GameBlog.fr, their site has been blacklisted after refusing to take down a news post that showed that Amazon was taking pre-orders for Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 off of a Google search. Amazon has since taken down the product from their pre-order listings. Unlike other sites, however, GameBlog has declined to delete their post since in their eyes it is a matter of truth and journalistic integrity.

GameBlog reports that Activision, in response, has blacklisted them and that they will not be receiving any further Activision products, any future Activision advertising campaigns have been cancelled, and they've been banned from going to any Activision press events such as the Transformers: War for Cybertron event they were scheduled to attend next week.

It's surmised that Activision is pulling its weight to prevent Black Ops 2 from being spoiled or to stop the spread of misinformation. Either way, they have decided not to go down the "we don't respond to rumors" route. I'm not sure what all this hooplah is about anyway. Everyone expects another Call of Duty, whether it's Black Ops 2 or Modern Warfare 4. That Activision is making such a big deal over it only makes suspicions worse.

Let's hope Game Revolution doesn't get hit with collateral damage.
