The Vita had a strong library at launch, there's no doubt about it, but there were a few things missing that leave the Vita with a ton of potential. A blockbuster RPG stands among the most requested additions and with plenty of games yet to be announced in the near future it's only a matter of time before RPG fans start sinking hundreds of hours into the Vita.
Satori Sakai, director of Phantasy Star Portable for the PSP, was recently seen promoting the Vita web conference which is scheduled for the 9th of March. Tie that in with the promise that there will be plenty of games announced for the device on the 9th and you have a coincidence that is impossible to ignore.
Phantasy Star has a long history that dates back to the late '80s, and its one of only a few JRPG series to survive through the cold winters of this generation. The series also has plenty of experience with online multi-player. The merging of the Vita's strong multi-player feature set, dual analog sticks, and big screen should tie in perfectly with the content-rich world of Phantasy Star.
