THQ Nordic To Re-Release Classic Nickelodeon Games

It’s time to re-live your childhood all over again. Publisher THQ Nordic has announced plans to bring back a bevvy of Nickelodeon games, including titles featuring classic characters such as SpongeBob SquarePants, Rugrats and The Fairly OddParents.

The “global revival” of Nickelodeon brands on consoles is being ushered in following a joint announcement today by THQ and Nickelodeon.

“The appetite for Nickelodeon content old and new continues to grow and it’s exciting to bring our beloved content to new audiences through this partnership with THQ Nordic,” says Jon Roman, Senior VP of Toys (yes, that’s a thing) at Nickelodeon.

The THQ Nordic Site has the full list of properties that the news applies to. It is not yet known whether THQ Nordic will be solely working on sprucing up past Nickelodeon titles or working on entirely new ones. The list, however, is as follows:

  • Avatar: The Last Airbender
  • Back At The Barnyard
  • Catscratch
  • Danny Phantom
  • El Tigre
  • Invader Zim
  • Jimmy Neutron
  • My Life As A Teenage Robot
  • Rocket Power
  • Rocko’s Modern Life
  • Rugrats
  • SpongeBob SquarePants
  • Tak And The Power Of JUJU
  • The Fairly OddParents (US only)
  • The Ren & Stimpy Show
  • The Wild Thornberrys

While many of the titles will have been consigned to the part of your mind that occasionally recalls a sunny afternoon spent indoors playing through Battle for Bikini Bottom or the like, some still maintain a fervent following through communities such as the ones found on YouTube.

For them, it will be like Christmas come early. For the rest of us, it’s going to be a really cool chance to replay some of the (surprisingly) decent kids’ show classics than spent more time in our consoles than we’d care to admit. I call dibs on the Rugrats in Paris golf mini-game.
